Abdul HabekMaestro-Head Coach
Abdul is a passionate and effective fencing coach who has trained nationally ranked athletes for many years. His love of fencing led him to found EBFG in 2000. He was recently voted the "Coach of the Year" at the University of California where he is also Head coach. He earned his M.S. in Physical Education/Coaching at Ukraine State University of Physical Education and Sport in Kiev. Abdul has coached both here and abroad, including the Moroccan National team. He has a competitive
background in fencing and soccer, and speaks 4 languages: English, Arabic, French and Russian. Maestro Habek's students range from beginner to elite competitor, including several nationally and internationally ranked fencers.
George YangCoach George has a lifelong enthusiasm for the sport of fencing. He has mastered all three weapons but confesses to a particular fondness for foil fencing. He is the originator of the Union City fencing program, and has been teaching at East Bay Fencers Gym since it's inception.
Jonathan JefferiesCoach, Armorer Jonathan is a long-time member of EBFG, who has recently received his coaching certification. He also provides armoring services for the club, which are available to club members at reasonable cost.
